Royal Russell School

Over the past three years we’ve built a strong relationship with the Royal Russell School in Croydon, supporting their events and providing technical advice and installations.

Two projects which we’ve been involved in recently have been a new sound system in the Junior School and providing equipment and support for their Media Studies Exhibition.

The original sound system in the Junior School which we replaced had been far too complicated for the staff to use, especially on an ad-hoc basis with no formal training. We implemented a much simpler but still as powerful system, incorporating the in house microphone systems, audio and video playback.

The result has been clear to see, after feedback from the Junior School Headmaster, James Thompson, staff have been able to use their sound system more and more, without spending large amounts of time attempting to get to grips with it.

For the Media Studies department, we recently provided equipment and crew for their “R.Oscars” Exhibition, showcasing the work of AS and A Level students over the past year. The exhibition was to have an ‘awards show’ feel to it, however not to be too over powering or distracting from the work of the students. We provided a simple, corporate lighting design which complemented the venue both inside and out in addition to sound reinforcement and video playback.

The evening was huge success, and the work of the students was truly phenomenal. Further information on the evening can be found at the Royal Russell School website - http://www.royalrussell.co.uk/latest_news/Media_Studies_Exhibition_April_2012.php
